To participate in the game of Gridiron, you must accept these terms and conditions.
- Privacy
When you register interest in Gridiron, we ask for your name and email address (see below). Your name (only) may then appear in standings and game reports on public pages of the website. Your email address will be shown to registered users who share a league with you. You have the option to extend this to all active participants in the game. We do not share your email address with third parties. Do not share an email address learnt from this website with anyone else, unless with the consent of the email address owner.
- Data Protection Act (UK)
Your participation in the game assumes that you accept that information about you will be stored
in a database in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 (UK). The
game relies on significant use of data stored in databases. If you do not accept this condition
you must not join the waiting list or participate in the game. If you are already a player and wish to withdraw consent to store your data in a database, you must communicate to the publisher a request for immediate withdrawal from the game.
- E-mail
Use of e-mail is required to play this game. It is a condition of playing the game that you are able to receive e-mails in standard formats. Also that any mail filters, for example spam filters, do not restrict your access to e-mails from us. We do not complete challenge/response filter verification.
We do not support multiple e-mail addresses for one player.
You must provide and maintain a single e-mail address by which you may be contacted
by the publishers of the game and its participants (including other players). You are responsible for ensuring this e-mail address
is current and accepts e-mails from us. A facility is provided on the web site for you to change our records of your e-mail
address. Should we need to contact you to advise of important
changes (e.g. changes to user account details, password reminders, access
procedures, deadline changes) we will use the e-mail address you provide to
do so. We will endeavour to protect the email address you provide from access by people other than the publishers of the game and its participants. You are strongly advised not to include your e-mail address in articles you publish through this website.
- Cookies
Your effective use of this web site depends on the use of cookies, which are transmitted to your computer
by this web site. Cookies are strictly necessary to support the running of this website. Your consent to set temporary cookies is a requirement of registration and subscription renewal.

- Deadlines
We will publish deadlines, which are dates on or after which the turn will finish and adjudications be run. We offer no guarantees on the precise time results will be published on or after that date. If a deadline time is published, you should not expect to be able to submit game orders from that time.
If a deadline date is given but no deadline time, you should assume one second after midnight (server time, this page served at 18:26:10) on the deadline day as the last time by which orders can reliably be submitted. Later orders may or may not be accepted at the GMs'
discretion.

All times published for Gridiron assume current British time.

will be taken to advise of changes to game rules in advance, but we reserve the right to change game rules without notice.

to be found on the web site, and the publishers of this web site do not guarantee the ongoing validity
of any you print or save for reference.
- Copyright & intellectual property
Any material you submit to this website must be your own or you must have the explicit right to post it to this website. Please note that content published on other websites is not necessarily available for re-use.
All material created by the publishers for this site (including data and game rules) are copyright. You may not distribute them to other parties, or download them except for the
purposes of playing the games.
- Acceptable use
Our objective is to create an enjoyable gaming experience based on an accurate simulation of American football combined with the creation of a community. For everyone to enjoy the game, we apply a set of principles essential to preserving this ethos:

- Offensive, hectoring, threatening or otherwise inappropriate conduct will be considered adequate reason for the withdrawal of access, without notice or compensation, at the discretion of the publishers.
- It is a condition of participation in this game that you accept the judgement of the publishers as final and binding in this respect.
- All material submitted to this website by you for display on a discussion forum, bulletin board, chat room or similar must be legal
- If you post a message, comment or question it must not be defamatory or contain material which might infringe the rights of third parties
- By submitting material to this website you agree to indemnify the publishers of this website from and against all claims, costs, and expenses arising out of any breach of these terms and conditions.
If we believe someone playing the game has acted contrary to these declared principles, or if their actions compromise the integrity of the game and/or result in an unfair advantage for someone, you accept our right to impose penalties including but not limited to expulsion from the game, subject to reasonable and proportionate process. Where an advantage is gained by someone playing the game from the actions of another person acting contrary to these principles, such penalties may at our discretion be applied to either or both parties.
Where inactivity on the part of someone playing the game compromises the running or integrity of the game and we have received no communication from them or on behalf of them to account for the inactivity we reserve the right to impose penalties including but not limited to expulsion from the game. Note that any failure to submit valid orders by published deadlines compromises the running of the game. Some deadlines have particular sensitivity and those playing the game are responsibile for identifying them through our published communications.
